Brickmould
Also called exterior casing, outside casing
The molded trim that frames the window on the outside wall.
Brickmould is the exterior counterpart of the casing. It covers the joint between the window frame and the siding or masonry, and gives the wall something to butt against. The name comes from its original use around brick openings.
It is thick and rugged, since it takes the weather, and is usually primed and painted on all sides.
