Blind stop

The strip on the outside of the frame that the upper sash closes against.

The blind stop is fixed to the outer edge of the jamb and head. It stops the upper sash from moving outward and seals the gap between sash and frame.

It is called blind because it is hidden by the exterior casing on most windows.
