Gasket
Also called glazing gasket, wedge gasket
A rubber strip that cushions the glass and seals it against the frame.
Gaskets run along both faces of the glass where the frame grips it. They keep glass from touching metal, take up movement, and keep water and air out.
Glazing with gaskets alone is called dry glazing. Wet glazing uses sealant or tape instead, and many windows use one on each side. Gaskets are usually synthetic rubber or silicone.
