Sash lock
Also called sash fastener, cam lock
The latch on the meeting rails that holds the two sashes closed.
The sash lock is mounted on top of the lower sash’s meeting rail, with its keeper on the upper sash’s. Turning it draws the two meeting rails together, which locks the window and tightens the seal between the sashes.
