Inactive leaf
Also called inactive door, passive leaf
The leaf of a pair of doors that is held shut with bolts until it is needed.
The inactive leaf stays closed, held to the head and threshold by flush bolts. It is opened only to get through a wide gap, such as when moving furniture. The active leaf shuts against it.
